Ahmed Qasem has quickly made an impact in Major League Soccer. Since his move from Elfsborg to Nashville SC, the 21-year-old midfielder has shown that he can perform at the highest level, and his development points towards a promising future – both at the club and international level.

After leaving Elfsborg for play in MLS, Ahmed Qasem has had a strong start in his new club. According to reports from Borås Tidning, the transfer fee amounted to 45 million kronor, and with bonuses, the total sum could reach around 60 million kronor.

Last weekend, he struck with his first goal for Nashville SC in a 2-0 victory against Portland Timbers. Now he followed it up with another goal in the match against Philadelphia. Qasem was in the starting eleven and left the field after 75 minutes of play. On the international side, he has previously represented Sweden's youth national teams, including the U21s. However, he has the option to choose to play for other nations. When recently asked about his future national team choice, he was still uncertain.

– I take it day by day. That's a very good question. My mom and dad come from different countries, and I was born in Sweden. It's a tough choice, but I hope to make the right decision in the future. Right now, I'm focusing on Nashville and MLS, he said then.

Qasem's father has his roots in Kuwait, while his mother was born in Iraq. Qasem, who was born and raised in Sweden, emerged in Elfsborg where he impressed with his technique. One thing is certain: Ahmed Qasem is a player to watch.
