How to buy Liverpool tickets at Ticket2

How much are Liverpool tickets?

The price depends mainly on the opponent. The most expensive matches are the games against Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal, the Merseyside derby against Everton and the match against Chelsea. Matches against teams in the bottom half of the table and midweek fixtures are usually the cheapest, and a good choice if you want to experience Anfield without paying for a top game.

For the same match, the home section in the upper tier behind the goal is the cheapest and the lower side stand the most expensive. Prices often rise as match day approaches, so it pays to book early. The price you see is the price you pay, with no fees added after booking.

The atmosphere at Liverpool home matches

Before kick-off the whole of Anfield sings "You'll Never Walk Alone", led by the Kop behind one of the goals. It is one of the most famous moments in football, and many travel here for that alone. The atmosphere peaks for the derby against Everton and the matches against Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal. Against teams lower down the table it is calmer, but Anfield is sold out almost every match.

About Liverpool

Liverpool FC were founded in 1892 after a dispute over rent made Everton leave Anfield and the ground's owner start a club of his own. The club is known as The Reds and has played its home matches at Anfield from the very beginning.

Under Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley in the 1960s, 70s and 80s, Liverpool became England's dominant club. The European Cup, today the Champions League, has been won six times, more than any other English club, most recently in 2019 under Jürgen Klopp. Klopp also won the Premier League in 2020, Liverpool's first league title in 30 years. In spring 2025 Arne Slot delivered the club's twentieth league title in his first season. The following season Liverpool finished fifth, Slot left, and in June 2026 Andoni Iraola took over after three seasons at Bournemouth. Liverpool have also won the League Cup 10 times, more than any other club, and the FA Cup 8 times.

How big is Anfield?

Anfield was built in 1884 and holds 61,276 spectators since the Anfield Road Stand was expanded in 2024, which makes it one of the five largest club grounds in England. The Main Stand gained its third tier in 2016. The ground has kept its tight, steep shape, so you are close to the pitch even high up.

How do I get to Anfield?

Anfield is about two miles north of Liverpool city centre, and from Lime Street the journey takes 15 to 30 minutes.

• Bus 917 runs directly from Commutation Row near Lime Street to the ground on match days, about 15 minutes. Routes 26 from Liverpool ONE and 17 from Queen Square also go to Anfield.
• Soccerbus: take Merseyrail to Sandhills and the match-day shuttle from there. Buses run from two hours before kick-off until 90 minutes after the final whistle.
• On foot it is under 30 minutes from Sandhills and 40 to 50 minutes from the city centre.
• A taxi from the centre costs around 8 to 10 pounds and takes 15 to 20 minutes, longer on match days.

Flying in for the match? Manchester Airport has the most connections, with trains to Liverpool Lime Street in just over an hour. Liverpool John Lennon Airport is half an hour from the centre.

Food and drink at Anfield

Inside the ground you will find classic British match-day food such as pies, burgers and fish and chips, along with beer, cider and soft drinks. Anfield is cashless, so you pay by card or phone. The pubs around the ground, such as The Sandon on Oakfield Road where the club was founded, fill up a couple of hours before kick-off. For a proper meal most people eat in the city centre before or after the match.

Tickets for a new season are listed in June, once the Premier League has published the fixtures. Matches moved for television get their new times in the fixture list on this page as soon as they are known.
